How can I deal with a nuisance raccoon on my property?
According to Ohio Administrative Code 1501:31-15-03, it is legal to live trap raccoons when they have become a nuisance. Nuisance and sick raccoons may be trapped on a homeowner’s property without a permit.
However, a homeowner may not relocate the raccoon. According to the law, the property owner cannot relocate the raccoon or keep the animal in a trap longer than 24 hours. With very few options other than releasing the raccoon back on site (to prevent the spreading of disease), what can a property owner do?
Ohio wild animal nuisance regulations allow two options for dealing with raccoon control:
- Release the raccoon on the same property in which it was live-trapped
- Humanely euthanize a nuisance or sick raccoon
Geauga Nuisance Control will get rid of that pesky raccoon
Geauga Nuisance Control is fully insured and licensed to humanely trap and euthanize unwanted wildlife on your property–including raccoons, skunks, opossums, beavers, coyotes, and foxes.
If humane trapping is impossible due to certain conditions, Geauga Nuisance Control has the permit to use lethal force to safely remove a nuisance animal.
Raccoon removal can be a quick and painless process. If a wild animal such as a raccoon is damaging your home or property, please contact Geauga Nuisance Control today.
Hi,
I have a raccoon that is digging under the deck and would like to get rid of it. Do you know anyone that would want the fur?
Live trap or euthanized.
Frank
We have a nest of Raccoons that have moved in under our porch roof. We definitely need an extraction. We can hear the little ones screeching and hissing. What would the cost of such a thing be?
My mom has a couple raccoons that are coming on her deck and in her garage and she is elderly. I’m afraid she is going to get bit or fall. How much is it to get rid of them?
